Staying Thin with Fast Weight Loss Diets

The problem with most fast weight loss diets is that after losing the desired weight and slipping into your skinny jeans once again or that tight bridesmaid dress, you may go back to old eating habits that helped put on the extra pre-diet pounds. Knowing some success secrets, however, may just help you keep those pounds off after the fast weight loss diets end.

Drink Plenty of Water

No matter what diet you choose, drinking lots of water should be an important daily habit. Most diet experts claim that 8-8 oz. glasses of water or 4-16 oz. sports bottles of water a day is a good amount to help you lose weight quickly and help keep the weight off on an ongoing basis.

Start Moving

Don’t expect to cut way back on calories and lose weight without some form of exercise. If you don’t belong to a gym or exercise regularly, the least you can do is start on a walking program. Start slow, but the key is to start. Get yourself an MP3 player and walk to your favorite tunes or find a walking buddy. The fresh air will do you good, and the pounds will fall away much faster and stay off if you continue a walking regimen. A brisk 10 minute-a-day walk is a great starting point. From there, every couple of days add on 5 minutes until you are finally walking at least 30 minutes a day. After your 3-7-day fast diet, you’ll notice you have more energy than ever before.

Eat Whole Grains and Forget the Fat

If you are used to eating fast food and foods high in carbohydrates, cut it out from day one of your fast weight loss diets. Whole grains such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains will get your metabolism moving quickly to help rid your body of those extra pounds faster than low-fat, low-calorie diets. Keeping in mind that your diet is only going to last a few days will help you make the switch, but watch out, you may just realize that these foods actually taste better than you remember as a child.

The bottom line is no matter what fast weight loss diets you choose to follow, incorporating healthy life changes found here and elsewhere on the internet will help you keep the weight off longer, and that is a goal worth working toward.
